*Hendrick House does not require masking at this time but still suggests masking, especially when in close proximity to others.*
Hendrick House has built a reputation on providing for the safety and security of students and clients for decades. Management and support staff have worked through many different challenges in the past and understand the importance of diligence, communication, and care in these types of situations. The COVID-19 virus is no different as we continue to mitigate its effects on those to whom we provide services as well as to our staff who play an important role in navigating our way through the current potential threat. The safety and well-being of our residents and staff is our highest priority.
Hendrick House continues to communicate with the University of Illinois, local city government, as well as staying abreast of both regional, national, and world news/resources for the latest information.
Current efforts include periodic email updates and creating communication vehicles such as this website to stay in touch and provide information to those in the Hendrick House community. Efforts include informing students of appropriate habits including frequent hand washing with soap, eating healthy, getting plenty of rest, minimizing stress as well as the appropriate channels available for other issues that might arise. More specifically, we have and are taking the following preventative measures:
- Hendrick House is notified if someone tests positive. Isolation and quarantine space is available in the building to move students that test positive or need to quarantine. This is coordinated by a member of our staff.
- Hand sanitizer and sanitizing stations are available in all common areas of the buildings. Masks are not required at this time but its is still recommended that everyone (vaccinated and unvaccinated) use a mask when away from their individual rooms, or office areas.
Maintaining clean living and dining conditions is a paramount goal. Of course, within this process, we will continue to foster a culture of respect, tolerance, and caring among all. Please continue to visit this website for up-to-date information.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this ever-evolving situation.
