Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about applying to and living at Hendrick House.

Yes! Hendrick House allows early arrival for the 2026–2027 academic year starting Saturday, August 15.
Students who wish to move in early may do so for an additional fee of $65 per night, which includes meals during the early arrival period.
Our official move-in days are Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20.
Hendrick House allows our incoming residents to select their own rooms and roommates within our My Hendrick House Portal.
This is a normal concern. In our online application process, numerous questions are asked to help in matching roommates, and students may request a specific roommate, too. Every possible effort is made to accommodate those requests and preferences. Complete information is necessary to make the best possible roommate selection.
Once room assignments have been issued, it is very difficult to make changes to these assignments. Making one change to meet the needs of a student after the assignments have been issued may affect up to three or four other people. But, in extreme cases, room changes can be accommodated.
In addition to the room furniture, Hendrick House provides each student with a mattress pad, telephone, toilet paper, and wastebasket. Students should bring a pillow, blanket, sheets and pillowcases, towels, bedspread, soap, laundry detergent, personal items, and a small study lamp for the bedside.
We have a new partner, Campus Fridges, where you can rent one of their refrigerator/microwave units for your room. Check out our Amenities section to learn more!
Hendrick House also offers a linen service where we provide you fresh linens every other week delivered right to your room. There is a small fee for this service.
All of the beds within our East building and West tower are Twin XL. When purchasing sheets for your bed, please purchase Twin XL sheets.
In addition to maintaining the common areas of Hendrick House, our full time housekeeping staff, at no additional cost, also visit your room weekly for cleaning. They vacuum, take out the trash, clean and disinfect your bathroom, add toilet paper and do light dusting.
We’ve included as many costs as possible in your contract so there are no surprises when you arrive. Optional items — such as parking, staying over Fall, Winter, and Spring breaks, and linen service — are billed separately. Residents who choose not to use these additional features are not charged.
Hendrick House offers several convenient payment options. Residents can choose to pay for the full academic year or by semester. Payments are divided into four installments per academic year — two per semester. For the 2026–2027 school year, payments are due June 1 and September 1 for the first semester, and December 1 and March 1 for the second semester. We also offer monthly payment options for added flexibility.
Using the My Hendrick House portal, residents can view their balance at any time and make payments online. You can also sign up for our secure recurring payment process, which allows a credit card to be charged automatically as payments come due.
Please note that a 3% fee applies to credit card payments.
The safety and well-being of Hendrick House residents is a top priority. All exterior doors are locked at all times, and our buildings are equipped with electronic locks for added security. Both the east and west buildings are protected by a sprinkler system, and residents receive fire evacuation training each semester.
Hendrick House has a reciprocal agreement with the university, which allows residents in the University Residence Halls to transfer into Hendrick House without any financial penalty whatsoever; similarly, we reciprocate and allow our residents to transfer into the University Residence Halls without any penalty. Our reciprocal housing agreement with the university does not apply to other privately owned housing facilities.
